Richmond is "Going Green"!

Go Green Richmond

Richmond, Rhode Island –The Town of Richmond and WeeGreen are partnering to make it easy for Richmond residents to go green!   Using the WeeGreen platform, the Town of Richmond has set up their free website, promoted the green marketplace, planned events, and customized materials to reach out via email, flyers, and social media to promote Go Green Richmond.

Powered with the help of volunteers and robust community outreach via social media, email and in-person events and workshops the campaign has had great initial success. In only a few weeks the Town of Richmond has already signed up over 35 local households as solar leads. Many of those individuals are also shopping on the campaign’s green marketplace as well. And because WeeGreen shares 20% of it’s net revenue with campaigns, the Town of Richmond has already raised over $800.

The town of Richmond decided to run a campaign after learning of campaigns being run in the neighboring towns of Jamestown and Narragansett. The community-based outreach campaign is encouraging the purchase of sustainability products and to increase the adoption of rooftop solar electricity. The Town intends to continue the campaign until the end of February 2019 in order to take advantage of the additional incentives that the State of Rhode Island will offer for solar and that will be available at that time.

Richmond has shown how easy it is to be green.  If you are interested in starting a similar campaign in your local town, church, school or organization sign up at www.wee.green.
